Lisa-Marie Leclerc, from the French Canadian city Rimouski,
is an ultimate Arctic lover. Her aspiration for winter adventures
and love for science has inspired her to conduct research in
the Arctic. Thus, she initiated a career in marine science and
completed a Master’s degree in Arctic Marine Ecology at
the University of Tromso (Norway).
Involved in Arctic research for the past six years, she had
the opportunity to visit many remote Arctic regions, such as
the Brooks Range in Alaska, Home Bay in Baffin Island (Canada),
northern Norway, and Prins Karl Island in Svalbard.
A self-taught recreational artist, she started painting at
the age of ten with her aunt. Ten year later, she decided to
concentrate on Arctic landscape with acrylics. Now living in
Longyearbyen (Svalbard), Lisa-Marie has the privilege to paint
her favorite subjects just steps away from her home. She aims
to capture the beauty of the Arctic, the amazing change in light,
the polar night, and icebergs during her free time.
